Mayor Joins Harrogate Community Groups at Granby Care Home Fair

Local organisations, support services and residents came together at The Granby Care Home for an afternoon focused on advice, community support and new connections.

The Granby Care Home welcomed residents, community organisations and support services to its Harrogate Community Connections Fair, bringing a wide range of local resources together under one roof.

Held in the care home’s historic Ballroom, the event gave visitors an opportunity to meet representatives from organisations supporting people across Harrogate, seek advice and learn more about the services available in the area.

The Mayor of Harrogate attended the fair and spent time speaking with visitors and stallholders about their work within the local community.

Organisations represented included Able to Enable, Full Circle Funeral Services, Specsavers, Move It or Lose It Exercise Group, St Michael’s Hospice, U3A Harrogate, Realise Training, TAO Staffing Solutions, Cucumber Recruitment and occupational therapy services.

Representatives from The Granby Care Home’s recruitment team also attended to provide information about employment opportunities within the care sector.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors were able to ask questions, collect information and connect directly with organisations covering health, wellbeing, education, employment and community support.

The event formed part of The Granby Care Home’s ongoing work to build stronger relationships with the wider Harrogate community and create a welcoming space where local people and organisations can meet.

The care home thanked the organisations, volunteers and visitors who helped make the Community Connections Fair possible.
